Today I used the big camera and i’m a little hesitant about uploading the photos because man it needs a service . . . infact that could be a story for the day.
Today the girls went back to school after the easter break and I went back to work (begrudgingly) so it was back to our daily routines, our morning routine consists of me getting up before everyone else an making a start on the school lunches, I don’t like to rush in the mornings so I tend to get up between 6-6:30. Currently on my bedside table are a pile of books/a lamp that I have had FOREVER and am desperate to replace, my glasses, a few hair ties, my big camera, some strength exercises that I really HAVE to get back into, a plate with a few bits and bobs, including painkillers as my shoulder has been achy the last few days and my gold foil print which I adore.
Wynter snuck in during the night due to a bad dream, it didn’t make for an orderly comfy night plus she freaked out when Cinder climbs on her at 5am so I ended up putting the cat out and shutting our door to get some shut eye before actually getting up.
As I opened the door to the kitchen I spied a little bobtail climbing off the couch, Max is so not allowed to sleep on the couch and he tends to “get away with it” as we don’t catch him most mornings but not today buddy!
After I’ve finished with the lunch boxes I go and wake the little girls, Harper is keen to see her friends but Wynter exclaims that today she is NOT getting out of bed!
Z draw a smily face on the condensation in our room and Cinder licked a little spot so she could see out! I also manage to drag little miss out of my bed, she is all smiles now that she has been reminded she has an excursion to the zoo later this week!
I heat the teas that we forgot about in the microwave, and while the girls are finishing up their breakfast I check my work email and my new timetable, as I’m not longer working with the preps a few hours a week I was anxious to see which student Id be with in those additional hours, I’m still with my main student which is and isn’t a blessing.
The girls are just about ready for their day and as I’m doing their hair, Stu sends through a message with a photo of his morning commute with the comment “for WITL”.
The girls are all ready an they are allowed to play or watch TV while I get sorted, they opt for playing with their dolls house, I took a few photos on my big camera of this but will upload these tomorrow to my Mac.
We get to school with a few minutes for them all to find friends before the bell, I catch up with a few of the mums I’ve made friends with before heading back home to tidy up from breakfast / make beds etc, I start at 10 with gives me just enough time to sort out anything I dont get time for in the mornings, if I’m really good I get it all done before school drop off anda manage a coffee before work . . .today is NOT one of those days.
I park in my usual spot at work, I don’t park in the staff car park as I tend to get locked in and would prefer to juts leave without the hassle of finding the key getting out and returning said keys to the office. I arrived with 15 minutes to put lunch in the fridge and chat to the new aide who is now working with the preps I looked after last term, I’m glad I had a chance to see her this morning she seems really lovely and was grateful I could pass on info about the two preppies.
My work day was pretty stock standard, the first hours the 1/2s had reading then it was out to yard supervisions with my student, he had a good day, I was worried it might be a tricky transition after holidays. PE and math went by without incident which is always good.
After I finished work I met up with Martine and Lou for a walk before getting the kids, its not ideal to walk in jeans but man it felt good to get out and active in the sunshine!
So thankful to not have any activities after school today so it was straight home, their was packages galore today, Harper’s netball kits and the much needed pet food the girlies all munched on a muffin from yesterday then played on the tramp.
While I was out with them I made a mental note to tend to the garden beds and veggie patch. I’ve decided not to plant winter veggies this year as we will be away during August/September.
Back inside and Z noticed that Wynter has stepped in dog poo! GROSS! I clean her and the floor up then get to the home readers.
I make a start on dinner only to find the zucchini for our slice was all mouldy, I’m throughly annoyed as it was only brought yesterday! I send through a msg for Stu to stop for chips instead.
I jump in the shower while to girls do homework/writing practice then we get on to some chores . . . Wynter sets the table and the big girls do a quick tidy up.
Harper is thrilled to be having lamb chop[s for dinner . . . we haven’t had them in ages and they are her absolute fave!
After dinner Stu takes Max for a walk to the cricket club as he has a meeting about this weekends presentation night and the girls have some chocolate for dessert, Z snaps this photo of me snapping photos of Cinder.
At Bed time Z tucks in the girls for me and tells Wynter a story.
Zahlia and I watch some TV while Stu is still out, we head to bed at the same time. I feel the need to read and unwind from the first day back at work. Z and Cinder both join me in bed. Before long we are all snoozing.
Stu got home about 10 and slept in Zs bed as there was no room in ours he said.
